Labuan Island

The main offshore financial hub and duty-free island town.

Welcome to Labuan

Labuan is a vibrant Federal Territory of Malaysia off the coast of Borneo. Known for its rich history of international maritime trade, this territory is a clean, duty-free island paradise blending modern offshore financial centers, pristine beaches, and tranquil water villages.

War Cemeteries & Maritime Memorials

The island is home to the peaceful Labuan War Cemetery, a beautifully manicured memorial honoring fallen soldiers from World War II. Throughout the territory, travelers enjoy duty-free shopping for local crafts, chocolate, and artisanal goods, alongside rich island sights and historic wreck-diving sites offshore.

Labuan Remembrance Day & Duty-Free Festivals

Labuan pays tribute to its history every November during Labuan Remembrance Day. This poignant military ceremony is attended by international veterans and families to honor the memory of those who fell defending the region during World War II. In a lighter celebration of island trade, the territory also hosts the Labuan Shopping Carnival, featuring massive duty-free sales, local street food markets, and cultural performances along the vibrant waterfront.
