The Ironwood Citadel of the Upper Rajang

Constructed in 1880, Fort Sylvia was built from solid Belian timber to bring peace to the turbulent Upper Rajang and prevent conflicts between the Iban and Orang Ulu tribes. Today, it houses a rich heritage museum managed by the Tun Jugah Foundation, showcasing rare ethnographic photography, warrior weapons, and textiles.
